Dear male choir members,
In mid-August we will be performing a TTBB (men-only) number - "I know that my Redeemer Lives." This song is quite challenging, but I am confident that with practice, the men in our Ward can do a terrific job. We need a minimum of 2 men per part (8 men), but can accomodate as many as would like to sing. I would encourage anyone with a desire to sing this beautiful hymn to join us, whether they have previously sung with our choir or not. I would ideally like a strong commitment from at least 12 men (3 per part) to be at every practice from mid-July to mid-August (about 4 practices). This song will, unfortunately, be too difficult for "game-day" singers.
Because this song will be more challenging, I will be working to get you the music early and provide resources to help you learn your parts. I will soon be distributing CDs with your individual parts. In addition, you can listen to this song below to hear the BYU Singers men perform the arrangement.
I know that many men who would like to sing in choir have meetings on Sunday mornings during our regular 10:15 time. I am willing to work to find a time that would encourage participation from as many men as possible. Please comment on the blog post or email me the time that would work best for you and I will try to select a time that will accomodate most people.
I look forward to working with you on this beautiful hymn. I know that your singing will help the congregation feel the Spirit and help fortify testimonies of Christ.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you.
